“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage . . .”

As a man, Joshua had the opportunity to tremble with fear at having to fill Moses’ shoes. Yet, he is told to be strong and have courage! In fact, he is commanded to be strong and have courage. Does that mean suck it up and use will power? What is the key here to having strength and courage? The key is “I will be with you” – seeing Jesus and realizing He is with you. HE IS WITH YOU!
Joshua saw Moses through a lifetime of following God and watching Him do miracle after miracle for the Israelites. That same God of promise who swears to keep His Word was saying, “I am with you, Joshua, just as I was with Moses.” Joshua remembered how God was with Moses and the great exploits that had been done. Focusing on “God is with me” instead of fainting with fear, He went out boldly – believing God was with him.
God says the same thing to you today. “I am with you. I will never leave you or forsake you. I am with you. Be strong and of good courage”. Meditate on this thought all week and see the difference it makes in your life. The Great I AM is with you.
