Heart Beliefs
The Bible shares so much about the heart. I see that the heart is the seat of who I am. I thought my heart and head were in harmony, but I began to see many places where they were not. That shocked me. It was embarrassing to my ego to admit that I knew things in my head, but didn’t really believe them in my heart. Me, really? No, I was a woman of faith and power, a real warrior, a strong prayer warrior!
True, but so many of my beliefs which I thought were Bible based were really tradition based. As I opened myself up to examine what God’s Word said, I realized I needed to change my view about several things, which is to repent. Another belief I had to face was that I blamed God for some things that happened in my life. Deep down, I thought God “allowed” them. That led me to think He wasn’t always good which was exactly what the devil wanted me to think because he convinced Adam and Eve of the same thing. What a lie!
Revelation
Studying God’s character by learning what His Names mean was an eye opener. God will not go against or be different from what His Names reveal. (Psalm 138:2)
Reminding myself of who He is everyday, not just once or twice, but everyday, has planted new seed in my heart. His Name tells me He is Agape (Love), my Righteousness, my Provider, my Healer, my Deliverer, my Peace, my Shepherd, my Conqueror, for me and with me always, and on and on. Also Jesus tells me He came to show me what the Father is really like. He said if you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father. As I meditated and pondered on the new Biblical picture of God, the fears and heaviness began to dissipate. I replaced my heart beliefs with my new understanding of who He is and I began to be transformed. I was learning the process of receiving freedom from fear and worry.
