“Suddenly a violent storm developed, with waves so high the boat was about to be swamped. Yet Jesus continued to sleep soundly. The disciples woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We’re going to die!”

Fear and panic seized their minds and their imagination went wild. As the boat was being tossed back and forth rising up on its side, I can only imagine the fear that gripped the disciples. I’m sure they felt as if the boat was going to fly up and flip over. Then they would be thrown into the sea and drowned. Terrible fear must have overtaken them as the hurricane like winds blew.
Yet, Jesus was sleeping peacefully. He probably felt He was being rocked by His Father as the waves went up and down. Jesus was a picture of peace and is showing us that there is peace to be found in the midst of turmoil and chaos.
Don’t give up or panic; fix your eyes on Him.
In the midst of fear, begin to see Jesus and say, “Even though the waves are strong and I feel like I’m being tossed around, You are my peace, You are my answer, You will make a way.” He is with you and wants to take care of you. He is Good! Think about what happened when the disciples cried out to Him. Immediately the water became calm and peace came – peace came. Their fears and anxiety disappeared. Their eyes were on the Master.
