“But Jesus reprimanded them. ‘Why are you gripped with fear? Where is your faith?’ Then he stood and rebuked the storm, saying, ‘Be still!’ And instantly it became perfectly calm”.

Jesus is saying, “Don’t you remember who I am and the miracles I’ve done? Don’t you know I am with you?” The disciples knew only what they saw and felt. If we go with what we see and feel, we crash. The present circumstances overwhelm us and we feel helpless. Jesus says, “where is your faith – trust – courage – focus on Me! I am your courage. I’ve got you.”
Courage in a frightening situation is not fearlessness. Even David said, “when I am afraid, I will trust. . .” so that shows he had fear, too. Yet, in that moment of fear, David chose to trust in His true Savior. And that’s exactly what Jesus is saying to the disciples. Don’t be overcome with fear in your situation. Remember I am your answer. I am here with you and I will save you.
And Jesus is saying that to you right now. Don’t panic! Refocus! Remember! Whatever you are facing, I have it under control. Trust Me! I am with you! Put your eyes on Me. You don’t have to beg because I want to help you. Call my name and let fear hear you say that you trust Me – that I have the situation under control.
