And. He replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
— Exodus 33:14 (CSB)
Happy New Year!
Jehovah-Shammah, God is present. It’s important to remind ourselves of this everyday so that when troublesome times come, it’s easier to know and experience God with us.
When we are facing a situation that causes us to worry, be stressed or fearful, it often does not feel that He is with us. Feelings scream loudly, but we have a choice: to focus on our feelings due to the challenge and be discouraged or we can take charge of our thoughts and focus on what the Holy Spirit is saying.
Psalm 140:13 says that the righteous shall give thanks to Your name and the upright shall dwell in Your presence. In His presence, we become full of joy, peace and are hidden from the plots of man. We become confident of His help.
Jesus shows us how he was conscious of the Holy Spirit in his life by looking up to heaven when 5000+ needed food and the visible resources were not enough. He had to turn away from the overwhelming number of people he saw and remember who he was and who was with him, reminding us to do the same. He is our teacher.
How do we stay in his presence? By talking to him throughout the day, giving thanks, singing to him, picturing him walking and sitting with us, even being silent and soaking in His greatness, goodness and love for us.
Abba Father wants a relationship with you. He wants you to know His character and experience His presence. He wants to give you hope and a future. We are facing challenges and difficult times and we need to know (experience) ABBA’s presence through the HS all the time.
Meditate on His presence everyday as a way of life in this New Year.
He will never leave you or forsake you. He wants to provide, heal, love you, set you apart, give you peace, lead you, be your righteousness and be with you. He is a Good Father!
He is Jehovah-Shammah, Eternally Present.
“He revealed to us His Name.”
