Jehovah Tsidkenu

December 21, 2025

Faith righteousness is believing He made you righteous.

. . . This is the name he will be called: The LORD Is Our Righteousness.

— Jeremiah 23:6 (CSB)

God is speaking to the Israelites through Jeremiah telling them that He is going to bring a descendant of David who will be righteous and will reign as King and will have wisdom. He will be called the LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, JEHOVAH TSIDKENU.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we celebrate the fulfillment of this prophecy. Jesus came, leaving all of his godly attributes behind and becoming a human in every way, (Phillippians 2:7). He became righteous, as a human, making that righteousness available to you and me.

Jesus fulfilled this by his death, burial and resurrection. When he hung on the cross, God put upon him the sin of mankind, everything despicable. He accepted that sin knowing it would kill him and take him down to hades. He experienced the pain and  the horrors of hell. He felt and heard the dark powers, demons laughing and jumping and shouting that he was done for, finished. But in that dark, horrific place, he remembered who he was, the Father’s beloved son, and by his faith rose up from that dreadful place without sin. He rose up RIGHTEOUS! Hallelujah!!

You become righteous by accepting what Jesus did for you (Romans 10:9-10). Good works do not save you. However, they are an outflow of being Righteous. Yet even though our spirit is completely righteous, learning to live and walk as the new person is a process, so don’t get discouraged.

Baby Jesus came into the world to be what we could not be in our own strength. His name is . . . . Jehovah Tsidkenu, Our Righteousness. He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Righteousness.

His Righteousness is yours. He has come to bring light, life and love into your being – to make you as you should be. O Holy Night! He has come. Let’s Rejoice!

He is Jehovah Tsidkenu, Our Eternal Righteousness!

“He revealed to us His Name.”
