Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
— Genesis 3:9
I heard a story about a little boy who was following a beautiful butterfly through the tall trees behind his house. He went deeper and deeper into the woods. After an hour, he realized he was lost and tried to find his way back home but got more lost. Finally, he sat down under one of the big trees and starting crying. He felt very alone and afraid. He hoped his daddy would find him, but he wasn’t sure he would look for him because he had disobeyed him.
After a long time, he heard a familiar voice calling his name. A flashlight shone through the trees. His daddy saw him and ran and swooped him up in his arms. The little boy shouted, “Oh Daddy, you found me! You found me! Now I know you really love me because you found me.” Abba Father is looking for you as this daddy was looking for his little boy. And remember, He was calling for Adam in the garden, even though he really knew where he was. You may feel ashamed and like you don’t deserve His Love. But despite how you feel, all He wants is for you to look up and say, “Now, I know you really love me because you found me.” Abba Father will never do anything except love you. He wants you to be found.
