“And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.”
— Luke 15:31 (NKJ)
This month we will be looking at a parable that Jesus tells in Matthew 20. It is the story of the vineyard workers. If you just take this story at face value without evaluating it deeper, it seems unfair. Some of the vineyard workers worked longer than the others and yet they all got paid the same amount. It looks like more work, less money and less work, more money. That is hardly fair.
But there is a lot in this story that Jesus is showing us. It is really eye opening to understand and see the heart of his message.
As we delve into this parable for the month open your heart and mind to see how God is revealing Himself in the story. It is amazing.
The wallpaper this month is a reminder that life happens. There are things that come against us from choices we have made or from the accuser. What is your view? Are you thinking God is working against you rather than for you? How do you get the victory? Take time to check and adjust your view.
God loves you and you are His delight. He has joined you that He might deliver you. This doesn’t mean that everything is peachy all the time but what it does mean is God will NEVER leave you. He is with you in the midst of life, walking with you hand in hand because He knows what it is like to live here in time.
Think about David, he made a lot of wrong decisions and there were consequences but the one thing David knew was “The Lord (The I AM) is with me.” And He is with you. He is there in the midst of the consequences of wrong choices, in the midst of the unexpected, in the midst of the ups and downs of life.
Adjust your view and look to see the God moments, the presence of the Lord, the Great I AM who is always with you. Redirect your view of life, “Look to see how God will reveal Himself today!”
The Lord declares to us just as He did in the story of the prodigal son, “You are always with me…”
“It is not what happens in life, it is how we look at it. Look to see how God will reveal Himself today.”
