The first thing God did after creating mankind was to bless them “in His Love”. Could this be a hint as to why God created man and woman? I’ve heard it said and I’ve even said it myself – that God wanted/needed fellowship. However, the Bible shows that God already had fellowship within the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God was complete within Himself – needing nothing and yet He wanted to create you. His desire is to bless you and have a relationship with you.
1 John 4:8 tells us that God is Love. Love is not a force; LOVE is the CREATOR. GOD is LOVE. He wanted to share love beyond Himself because LOVE is who He is and love has to give. He wanted to create another like Himself, a creature who was capable of receiving love and sharing that love with others. LOVE is the life of creation. GOD IS LOVE!
LOVE is incredibly patient, gentle and consistently kind to all. LOVE is not jealous over another’s blessing. LOVE is not offended or irritated easily. LOVE celebrates honesty and finds no delight is what is wrong. LOVE never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and always endures. LOVE never stops loving. This is God!
When we try to live outside of that LOVE, then we are on our own and we step into death. Life without GOD – LOVE – is death. God does not want that for any of His creation. You are His Masterpiece equipped by His LOVE to live on this planet, infused with Holy Spirit power and favor to receive and share that love.
As a child of God, you have Him in you, behind you, in front of you, above you and beneath you. You are surrounded! He has you covered! This GOD – LOVE – wants you to know – experience Him, not just know about Him.
