Then Yahweh-God planted a lush garden paradise in the East, in the Land of Delight, and there He placed the man He had formed.
— Genesis 2:8 (TPT)
When I picture the Garden of Eden (the Land of Delight), I think of one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever visited – the Gibbs Garden in north Georgia about an hour from Atlanta. It is a stunning 300-acre botanical garden. Its beauty goes on and on. But I’m sure the Garden of Eden was even more glorious.
In this magnificent and breathtaking garden which words can’t describe, God put Adam and Eve. Besides the visual beauty, there was no sadness, no fear, no darkness, no heaviness, no sickness, no anger or frustration, no death, no jealousy, no misunderstandings, no hardships, no shame or condemnation. There was only joy, goodness, contentment and harmony.
It was a perfect environment which was beyond imagination. God desired that mankind would experience His love, peace and joy in this beautiful place. He wanted a relationship with His creation. His pleasure was to see them laugh, work and play in this glorious environment of beauty.
What an awesome God who created such a beautiful place for His creation to live. And He supplied everything mankind would ever need or desire, giving blessing after blessing. They also had the joyous opportunity to walk and talk with God. What a paradise! This is God’s heart for all mankind. Do you see His love, His heart for you?
When you feel depressed, worried and anxious, remember your giving Father – the One who loves you unconditionally and never changes. He will never stop loving you, never stop wanting the best for you, never leave you or forsake you. He is the one who is always “more than, bigger than, greater than” anything you face. When circumstances are screaming something different, remember and focus on His Love for you.
“LOVE came into my humanity to wrap his arms around me.”
