Let It Be!

January 28, 2024

He shows me the path of life.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

— Psalm 16:11 (NKJ)

So many things in the Christian life are seen as things to be grasped, hanging on tight for dear life. How often we do that! We grab a promise and repeat it over and over, posting it everywhere making it the central theme of the moment. Bless God! I will not let go of that promise! I know because I have been there doing exactly that – holding onto the promise like a football and not letting go! Honestly, it gets very tiring after a while when the promise seems to be elusive.

We try to GET the promise of peace, joy, healing, hope, wisdom, provision or any other promise we have found. We individualize these promises trying to get each as an item to add to a grocery bag. This is totally missing the point which is that they are not individual items to be gathered together and held onto until white knuckled.

This verse says “at your right hand are pleasures forevermore”. Where are these things we are wanting? These promises, these pleasures and blessings? They are “at your right hand” and who is at the Father’s right hand? It is Jesus! (Hebrews 8:1)

Jesus came riding on a donkey and the people shouted “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord”  (Matthew 21:9) He is the blessing. Jesus doesn’t give us salvation as a thing rather He IS Salvation. He is the Joy, He is the Peace! These are not things lost which are to be found, but rather they are the person of Jesus. In Him, we have joy and peace. He is the blessed One. This is the Gospel! This is the good news!

When you realize you have Him, His very presence, then you realize you already have everything. You have the promise and you have the joy, you have peace, you have healing. You have because He is WITH you. He never leaves you (Hebrews 13:5).

The verse above says that He shows you the path of life which is in His presence of joy. In Him are pleasures forever more. This is not distant or far away in the future but it is for our living right here and now, in this very moment.

Through the Holy Spirit we say – “Let it be!” The reality of the manifestation of Jesus in every area of my life is the blessing. I am blessed and I live in the blessing because He is with me!

Jesus is the fulfillment of all these things and being blessed is found in the presence of the Lord. I don’t have to seek His presence because He is with me. It is not a feeling. It is not something that is lost and then has to be found. It just is . . . He is in covenant with me. He is there whether I ever acknowledge Him or not. He is with me never leaving me or forsaking me.

Live every second with the realization that “the Lord is with me”. I am blessed in the city. I am blessed in the country. My comings and goings are blessed BECAUSE THE LORD IS WITH ME!

“BLESSED ~ a perpetual state of bliss”
