June 2026 Wallpaper

June 7, 2026

Learn to lean into the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Some people ruin themselves by their own stupid actions and then blame the LORD.

— Proverbs 19:3 (GNT)

Have you ever made a decision and the choice you made did not turn out like you had pictured? And yet, as you look back on the moment of decision you know there was a brief hesitancy. There was an inner feeling of “this doesn’t feel right”. And yet, you rationalized your way right into that choice. It made perfect sense. In the mode of reason and logic, it was the way that seemed right but it led to a completely different ending than you had envisioned.

Or maybe you can think of a time when you followed the nudge to steer clear of the choice that seemed to make the most sense. Then later you were able to throw up your hands and say, “Thank you, Father that I heeded the inner nudge to choose otherwise”.

A few years ago when we were house hunting, we found one that checked all the boxes. It seemed perfect and exactly what we were looking for at that time. It was awesome! My husband and I were in the back yard and he said to me…. “So what are you thinking? I said, “well, it is what we are looking for but for some unexplainable reason I have to say it is not for us.” My husband looked at me and said something like, “you could knock me over with a feather!” Even though it looked right, I knew it wasn’t and he felt the same way.

We spent another year in the rental house before we found “our home.” And interestingly, by that time, our needs had changed. The things we had been looking for did not fit our current needs anymore. If we had bought that house, we would have been stuck in a home that wasn’t what we needed, though at the time it seemed perfect.

The path may seem right, perfect, and the best choice, but we don’t know what we don’t know. Learn to lean into His leading and His guidance, Learn to let go of your own choice and trust Him. In the moment, I was disappointed to not have a home yet, but I let it go and chose to wait and trust. The end result was exactly what we wanted and needed.
