When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
— John 14:20 (NLT)
Who remembers the game of Life? I loved to play games growing up and that was one of the games we played often. So what is the game of Life? I mean real life. We are all working hard to try and get ahead, to make the right choices and move forward. However we do it, what ever it looks like, if it’s trying to be something, accomplish something, wanting to fit in or trying to succeed at something – we’re just trying to live life.
Jesus talked about living the abundant life, the overcoming life, the joyous life, the victorious life. I am learning that one of the keys to living this life which Jesus gave us so freely is the understanding that Christ is in me and I am in Christ.
As we’ve mentioned, Biblical meditation means to think about, imagine, mull over, consider, ponder, and chew on the Word, so that God’s truth becomes our reality. This happens as we renew the mind. Then we are able to see and feel what it would be like to live out God’s reality as our truth.
When you meditate, imagine that you ARE who God says you are because Christ is in you. Think about what it would look like if you were a patient person. What would it look like for you to be protected in a situation? What would it look like for you to walk in God’s wisdom, knowing what to do? When you imagine each scenario, seeing it and feeling it, you get it into your heart. Imagine yourself living out the truth of who you are in Christ and Christ in you.
As you do this and begin to see, really see and feel in your mind’s eye, that you are in Christ through his death, burial and resurrection, you are transformed. As you see and imagine it, you will begin to experience this truth – Christ in you, the hope of glory.
