This is covenant love; love with a commitment – no back door. Love says I will never leave you or forsake you, I change not and I will never separate myself from you. God proved His love; He gave even to death. The unlimited limited Himself by becoming a human. Really? Yes, God entered humanity; He looked through your eyes and heard through your ears. We have talked some about the normality of Jesus’ life. He knows and feels what you are going through because He has been there. (Selah – Pause and think about that)
Growing up in a religious atmosphere, I thought because Jesus was God, He had an edge on us humans, that He didn’t really think as we think, but the word shows us He did think as we think. He felt and experienced sadness, was tempted to distrust God in the wilderness and felt great heaviness before dying on the cross. He limited Himself by becoming a human – weak. Whenever it mentions anything about Jesus being weak, it is referring to his humanness. And one of the purposes for Him becoming human was to show us how to live victoriously in a human body by the power of the Spirit. He listened and chose His Father’s words over His flesh or the devil.
When you find yourself in the middle of loss or misunderstanding or need or sickness, etc., you must remind yourself of who God is – Love. He is with you and will not separate Himself from you. Use your imagination to see Abba holding you – holding your hand. And don’t limit Him to what you think or how you think it should happen. His way is always better! Let your negative picture go and discover Him as you’ve never discovered Him before. Don’t focus on the negative, but on Abba who is always LOVE – always positive – wanting to show you His covenant Love. This Love keeps you if you will let it!
