“He isn’t here—he has risen victoriously, just as he said . . . .”
— Matthew 28:6
Jesus rose from the dead victoriously and carried us with Him. We dance and sing praises about that. Yet, what did He just go through? The darkest time of His life. Do you realize that He was not immune to the feelings of despair, anxiety and fear that you feel? He chose to feel what you feel! And He had the opportunity to doubt the Father’s Love. Yes, He had that opportunity. He looked at the fallen world from the inside and felt all that you feel. If Jesus had not felt what you feel, He couldn’t help you.
You don’t have to beg Jesus to come into your darkness. He is already there with you. He has been through the worst. He understands your feelings because He has experienced them. He says to your deepest being, “It’s okay, because I am here with you”. Jesus knows that the darkness is filled with the Love of the Father. He made a choice and declared His faith in the Father’s Love and refused to accept the thoughts of the enemy.
Most of us trust our feelings about God rather than God Himself. Think about that. Jesus’ feelings were, “why have you forsaken me?” He felt deserted and forgotten just like you do at times, but He chose and responded to the Father’s Love over the enemy’s lies. HE ROSE VICTORIOUSLY! HE IS RISEN!
“Jesus has been through the darkest night; The Father’s love was there.”
