Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
— Ephesians 1:3
What familiar words we sing every Christmas season celebrating the reason for the season. These words are so familiar that they have lost their meaning. Take a moment to think on “He comes to make His blessings flow, far as the curse is found.” What does this mean?
An image that comes to mind is the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty when the castle is placed under a curse. In the pages of the book, you can see the shadow of darkness covering the land. The curse enveloping everything with shadows, thorns and thistles.
That is what happened to the world in the beginning, at the fall of mankind, and now all of creation groans to be free.
But He came.
He came into the curse, into our darkness to make His blessings flow. God from God came removing the curse of this world, this world’s system, that we might be free to live in and receive His goodness, His blessings.
Be reminded that you are free far as the curse is found, wherever the curse has affected this world, your life. You are the rescued living in His blessings.
