“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her and he ate.”

To make one wise indicates that she will now be independent from God. She didn’t need Him anymore. Proverbs 3:7 says “do not be wise in your own eyes.” If you think you have all the answers, then you have no need for God and He can not work in your life. They chose INDEPENDENCE over DEPENDENCE. That was the big lie! They disobeyed God, but the real sin was “I don’t need you” – INDEPENDENCE. And that is the same today. God did not override Adam and Eve’s will and He will not override yours. They chose another direction and tied God’s Hands. God has all power but He has chosen not to override man’s will and desire. By not believing God, they chose independence and brought disaster upon themselves and mankind. Every time we choose independence we bring hardship on ourselves. Abba Father is saying, “Let me bless you. Depend on Me. I am Faithful and I will take care of you.”
