“… Let God be true but every man a liar! …
— Romans 3:4 (NKJ)
Happy 2026!
As I was meditating and praying about what subject to start this year with, the words “Gather Evidence” popped into my mind. Let me explain.
What makes me or you believe something? Usually, it’s because we have knowledge that makes us think it is true. Either I have heard about or seen something until I believe it to be true. I have evidence. My heart believes the strongest evidence along with the strongest and most consistent emotions.
The world is always giving us evidence to believe something that we see, feel, hear, taste or smell which is relating to the flesh and if that weighs heavier in our hearts than what God says, we go with it.
The only way we can begin to do what God says rather than what the world says is to know Him so that we trust His character and then “gather evidence” on His side.
Our mind may know what God says, but in our heart, we will believe whatever we give the most thought and time, too.
God is for you, not against you. He wants you and me to live as winners. However, the only way we live in victory is to believe His words in our heart, not just with our intellect. This is key. And the only way we will believe them in our heart is to gather evidence showing that He is good and that He loves us. Then when circumstances show otherwise, we are immovable as to who He is and what He does because it is in our heart.
It is important to remember, ponder and literally see, imagine and live in who He is, what He says, in the miracles we read in the Bible and Jesus’ example. This is gathering evidence with emotion . . . . so let’s begin this journey together.
“Gather evidence to establish the beliefs of your heart.”
