And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
— Romans 8:39 (NLT)
Have you ever done something or said something or even thought something that made you feel like you were unlovable? Probably all of us at some time have felt that way. What do you do when it happens?
Maybe you beat yourself up or wallow in self pity. That’s exactly what the enemy wants you to do. He likes it when you get down on yourself. Or maybe you justify and defend yourself to yourself. Your flesh enjoys that and supports you, but it doesn’t really help either.
The amazing truth is God loves you and me during these times because His love is Agape. Nothing we do or say or feel can separate us from His love. So instead of running away and making excuses, let us run to Him. Admit your feelings, repent by changing your mind from condemnation or suppression, forgive yourself and revel in the knowledge that He loves you. He is with you to comfort and heal. He says, “Trust Me and let Me love you.” He wants to wrap His arms around you and bring you close.
Do not allow the feeling of unworthiness keep you from receiving the Father’s love. You have to accept it or not. Because He gave you freedom of choice, He can not do it for you, even though He desires that you accept it.
“Delight in being the object of God’s love.”
