. . . Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. . . .
— Romans 3:4 (NKJ)
People say all the time, “God is in control”. Many believe that everything that happens is God’s doing. Do you really believe God is manipulating mankind’s every move like on a chess board? Lots of people believe that.
However, if God gave mankind the right to choose, then how can He be in control of all that happens in the earth? True, He has the ability to be in control because nobody can make God do anything, but He decided that He would not make you do anything either. He chose to give you freedom of choice. God l-i-m-i-t-e-d Himself! He lets you choose! God will not choose for you.
When a person is killed in an accident, people say God needed them or wanted them. Nobody looked at the action of the person driving to see if he looked down and didn’t see the car coming into his path. That was an unintentional choice, but still man’s choice. God didn’t cause it! Our choices bring about consequences just like seed brings about its kind in our lives.
God will never condemn you for a bad choice, even though He knows it was wrong. He continues to offer help and says, “Get up, let’s look at what happened and why. I will help you walk through the consequences”.
Don’t let the devil or your mind convince you that the bad things that happen are God’s fault! They are absolutely not His fault or desire. Own it. Take responsibility for your choice. If it’s something you did to cause it, let God show you what went wrong and bring healing. Healing only comes when we face what really happened. Yes, it hurts our flesh and ego, but the healing it brings is well worth the hurt.
You may be a person that can’t stand yourself when you think you made a mistake or didn’t do everything perfectly. However, only when we face what happened, in honesty, can we be set free and healed. It’s okay. God is not condemning you or judging you, so stop doing that to yourself.
God is not the one making you feel guilty. You are, and it’s because you can only accept yourself when you do everything the way you think you should. God loves you and accepts you without condemnation. He never condemned the woman caught in adultery. The truth is, she made some wrong choices. So you made a wrong choice. Accept this, forgive yourself, don’t blame God and move forward. Free yourself from having to perform perfectly.
The Creator Father loves and values you and is always, always for you.
“Life without Christ is but an illusion.”
