For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.

God is with you right now as your mighty Savior. In Hebrew mighty means powerful, warrior, champion, giant, valiant. What is your challenge today? God as the Holy Spirit has your back, making a way where you see no way and delighting in you, His own. He is leading and guiding you with excitement and pleasure.
The next phrase really got my attention: “With his love, he will calm all your fears”. What does that mean? You remember 1 John 4:18 – perfect love casts out fear? The above phrase is saying the very same thing to us. His Love will calm all your fears.
My mother was a very caring and loving person. After giving birth to me, she was unable to have other children. I knew even without my mother saying it that she loved me and it had nothing to do with what I did. In her presence, I felt safe because there was no judgment. As a child, I knew I could share things that I was ashamed of and she would not put me down or make me feel guilty. Her love calmed my fears. She died at the age of 93 and the last thing I heard her say before she died was, “I love you so much”.
Maybe you had a mother like mine, maybe you didn’t. Perhaps your mother had so many problems of her own, she was unable to give that kind of love. No matter because this is what your Heavenly Father wants you to know – experience – an unconditional and non judgmental love. God showed His Love for you and me through Jesus as He became one of us and died as us. That love is not dependent on what we do. Our part is to believe and receive. When we are able to accept that He loves us with no strings attached and no conditions, our fears are calmed or quieted, as another version says.
Just as I knew my mother would not condemn me, the Holy Spirit wants you to know that God does not condemn you. He will never shame you or make you feel guilty. You can be honest in His presence and His Love will quiet or cast out your fears. This is not Eros or human emotional love which goes up and down. This is AGAPE, the unconditional, perfect, accepting and building up Love. Love that makes you feel safe! Psalms 62:6 (TPT) says, “For You alone are my safe place”
Allow His Love to wash over you. Face the thought that says God wants me to prove my love first. Send that thought away. As you accept HIs love in your heart, your fears will be calmed. You will find yourself singing, “O how the Father loves me, O, how Jesus loves me and that’s why I love Him.
