This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
— 2 Timothy 2:11 (NKJ)
Not only did Jesus rescue you from sin and death, but he raised you into a new kind of life. When you became a believer, something more than just behavior changed, your very identity changed. At Jesus death, your spirit was united with him. And at his resurrection, you were resurrected as a new person. Now he wants you to live as he lived when he walked this earth, in victory.
You no longer live for victory, but with the mindset Jesus had of being in victory. He brought heaven on earth. Now we can choose to receive from his life or continue in defeat.
This is not about religious performance or trying harder. This is about your relationship with God. He did the ultimate to prove His love. Don’t wait for eternity to start someday; start walking in it now. You can do it.
The past with its slavery to sin, fear, anxiety and depression no longer has a hold on you, unless you allow it to. As a new person, you are alive to Christ. Respond to his love and you will feel secure in his presence. You trust someone who you know truly loves you.
You now have a purpose, you are a Life Giver with the same purpose as he had: to glorify God, to love as he loved and to walk as a citizen of heaven in this broken world. Let that reality fill your heart influencing how you think, feel and live each day. You are now living to God.
The first instruction he gave to Adam and passed down to you and me was to bear fruit. Be a Life Giver. You can choose to be that today.
Because you died with Him, you shall also live with him.
