The wonders of His love!

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

— 1 John 3:1 (NIV)

Most of us have heard of the 5 love languages and may be able to identify which one speaks to us most clearly. When someone gives to us according to our love language, we are able to receive the message and understand that expression of love toward us. When a message is perceived, we immediately feel valued, important and feel our worth from that person.

God speaks to us declaring His love for us over and over in numerous ways showing our worth. In the context of these 5 love languages, let’s look at a few verses that show God speaking to us in these ways.

Words of affirmation ~ As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.” Psalm 16:3 (NKJ)

Quality time ~ “No other nation, no matter how great, has a god who is so near when they need him as the LORD our God is to us. He answers us whenever we call for help.  Deuteronomy 4:7 (GNT)

Physical touch ~ Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.  Matthew 8:3 (WEB)

Acts of service ~ Peter looked at Jesus and said, “You’ll never wash my dirty feet—never!” “But Peter, if you don’t allow me to wash your feet,” Jesus responded, “then you will not be able to share life with me.” John 13:8 (TPT)

Receiving gifts ~ And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. Romans 8:17 (TPT)

This season is a time of remembering the wonder of love the Father has lavished on us. He is telling you that you are important and valuable. Jesus Christ, the Son of God came as the Son of Man to show you that you are of great worth.

“Because He appeared my soul feels its worth”
