Be still and know that I am God. . . .
— Psalm 46:10 (NKJ)
Be still means relax, let go, stop striving, cease fighting, rest, be quiet, internally.
The Passion says, “Surrender your anxiety. Be still and realize that I am God”.
People are always moving, doing, going. You have to intentionally slow down and stop. That is the only way you will know God in your heart.
Usually, you don’t trust a person you don’t know. But once you know their character, you decide if you can trust them or not. The problem with our view of God is that most of the time we judge God by what we see, instead of what He tells us about Himself.
When we don’t see what we want to see, we think God is holding out on us. (Just as Adam and Eve thought in the Garden).
When you have doubts about something, you need to stop, be still, and meditate on who God says He is. Examine the life of Jesus and see how He dealt with people and situations. Then relate it to your situation.
Jesus never put hardships on people or refused to do good. Therefore, He is not trying to teach you something through difficulties.
Be still and know (experience) who God is. This does not happen by doing it one time only. You have to imagine God providing and taking care of you over and over.
You choose to receive His peace, His healing, His righteousness, etc. Sit quietly and let the truth of who God is become real and settled in your heart.
You and I choose the door we will open, the path we will take.
