What will it take to distance us from the love of Christ? You name any potential calamity: intense pressure of the worst possible kind, claustrophobia, persecution, destitution, loneliness, extreme exposure, life-threatening danger, or war? On the contrary, in the thick of these things our triumph remains beyond dispute. His love has placed us above the reach of any onslaught.
This is my conviction; no threat whether it be in death or life; be it celestial messengers, demon powers or political principalities, nothing known to us at this time, or even in the unknown future; no dimension of any calculation in time or space, not any device yet to be invented, has what it takes to separate us from the love of God unveiled in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
— Romans 8:35, 37-39 (Mirror Bible)
These verses list several things you would think bring separation from God’s love and yet, none of these separate you from the love of God. The love of God, no matter what happens, what it looks like or feels like, just is. It is because He is. Nothing changes the fact that He is. God’s love for you is unchanging; nothing you do can change God’s view of you.
Truth is truth whether you accept it or not. Believing something does not make it a truth. Just as not believing something does not make it an “un” truth. Your not believing He loves you and delights in you does not change the truth that He does love you and He does delight in you.
Do you know why nothing can separate you from the love of God? Because He has already displayed and expressed His love to you in, through and by Christ. 1 John 3:16 (TPT) “This is how we have discovered love’s reality: Jesus sacrificed his life for us.”
God’s love has already expressed itself in its fullness in Christ. Nothing can change that. There is no greater expression of love than this – He lay down His life for us and calls us friend (John 15:13).
No matter what it looks like or feels like you are loved and there is no changing His love and delight toward you whether you accept it or not. God’s love has already been made manifest toward you in the unveiling of Christ.
