August 2023 Wallpaper

August 1, 2023

There is only one constant in life – He is LOVE.

Every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven; it comes down from God, the Creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause darkness by turning.

— James 1:17 (GNT)

Life is continuously changing. You can fully expect your circumstances to change. What may a fact now will change because facts change. The fact is, your yesterdays are different than your today which will be different than your tomorrows.

Wondering about God and feeling He has left you and abandoned you is viewing the love of God through life’s circumstances. Everything changes and it seems God does, too, because the circumstances speak loudly and we think this is God. If God were good all the time, then my life would be stable and changing for the better, not the worse.

No, no, no! Truth which is God never changes! Accept God’s unconditional love that never changes. Facts change, truth does not. You are loved by Abba! God cares for you. He came into your darkness, into your very existence to wrap His arms around you. He has taken on your humanity and has become as you. He has lived life in your shoes to the fullest. He knows what life is like here on earth. He has lived it. He has been there. He knows. He really knows.

God is the unchanging one. He is constant. While life changes around you, feelings, emotions, circumstances, relationships, careers, homes and situations, He is there. He never changes. He is the constant. He is the anchor. He is the source of hope and life. He is the blessing of life. He is the rock and shield. His presence never leaves you. He LOVES you and always will.

The circumstances change, but He does not. He is love and nothing can change that. It is learning who He is and who you are and in that, you see His love is there! Then you take your circumstances and pass them through the love of God. Yes, it is tough but HE is MY…..rock, my hope, my redeemer. He is with me. He is working, He is caring for me. I see Him, not based on the changing events around me.

This is the story of David’s life. He was chased, hunted,  pursued, disliked, disdained and rejected. His circumstances were less than desirable and yet He SAW the covenant love of God. And He lived under the old covenant! We are in the new. So view the circumstances through the Love of God. He is with you! He is your hope and your victory. Even if circumstances don’t change like you think they should, judge the circumstances by who God is, not by the circumstances. He is love!

This month we will be looking at the book of Ruth. There is a difference between Naomi and Ruth’s attitudes. One judged God based on her circumstances. She considered God to have forsaken her and that He was the one that brought heart breaking events into her life. She became bitter and hard. The other, saw a covenant God, and defined her circumstances by who God was, a loving God who provides and cares and is in the midst of where she was, leading the way.

Open your heart to see first, a loving, caring covenant keeping God, Abba, who loves you. As we delve into the book of Ruth take a look at these two women. You will see how they viewed God. You will also see God always working behind the scenes. This is true of your life. God is with you and working on your behalf. Always.
