“. . . Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
— Colossians 1:27
God’s hope for the world is Christ living in believers. The world needs to see why we have hope. Yet sometimes we get caught up in the devil’s lie of thinking everything depends on “me.” And we try to muster up a lot of will power to make it through and be what we think we need to be. Sad to say that does not bring peace and will power will only get you so far. The important subject here is to realize that Jesus in you is your hope, not yourself. He lives in you through the Holy Spirit. This is what the world needs to see – that when I get overwhelmed, I don’t take it on myself to keep going. No, I say, so glad Christ in me knows what to do. And I picture Him taking over. He is not a figment of my imagination, but the foundation of who I am. Who can explain the peace that comes when I change my focus? It’s Christ in me, the hope of glory, not me in me being the answer.
