“And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, . . . .”
— Matthew 14:31
After Peter walked on the water for several steps, he took his eyes off Jesus and looked at his circumstances. Fear overwhelmed him and he began to sink. Recently, a friend brought to my attention this fact: Peter took his eyes off Jesus, but Jesus never took his eyes off Peter. Peter failed Jesus in that instant, but Jesus did not fail Peter. Maybe you messed up in an area and you didn’t trust Jesus when you should have. So? Jesus has not failed you and He never will. He is ALWAYS watching out for you. You are His priority. Don’t wallow in self pity! He wants you to succeed, to get back up, brush yourself off and forgive yourself. Put that behind you and go forward because Jesus is watching you, encouraging you to go forward with joy. In summation He says “Trust Me! My eyes are always on you. I will not fail you!”
