My daughter Shan and I teach a Women’s Group regularly. What a blessing to share together how the Holy Spirit is changing us through a new understanding of grace and of the Father’s love. I marvel with gratefulness at the peace and joy I see in Shan which has become who she is no matter what her circumstances. She has a gift to teach and makes the Word of God come alive. Look for her creativity on this website which you will really enjoy.
About my mom
Growing up people came in and out of our lives continuously and often saw my family as their family. My grandparents were a good example of loving and accepting people and my parents continued this as I was growing up. We had people over frequently, some even lived in our home for periods of time. Because of this, my mom is “mom” to many people. She has always been an inspiration and as I get older I see that more and more.
One of the main things I can say about her is, though her years of life are many, she is letting herself change. That is a huge deal and absolutely amazing! Most of us are stuck, wondering why life is not better, or different. Seeing her change and be changed is such an example. She is open to see where she has had wrong thinking and lets it go, a decision of the soul by the power of the Holy Spirit. For her, as with most, this has not always been the case. If we look at ourselves where we are, and not where we want to be or where we think we are, then change can happen and it is so worth the journey! The fruit becomes evident. So when my mom quotes her life verse of Ps 92:14-15 I can attest to the fact that she is bearing fruit and it is inspiring to those around her.
Together
Several years ago she asked me to teach a Bible study with her, I was hesitant but responded by saying, “Sure I will help you, mom, I just don’t want to teach myself but I will be there for you!”
This “helping” mom has evolved into teaching and co-teaching. I have to say, I would not be teaching again if she hadn’t asked me to “help” her. We continue to teach together as the Lord opens doors and gives opportunity.
The birth of this website is part of our story together as mother/daughter. We are excited to share insights that are affecting change in our personal lives. As we share our journey, we want the purpose of the website to be about the love and goodness of the Father. We pray that you come to see God as the personal and truly loving Father He is, letting His grace upon grace wash over you.
